Special Events and Activities

In addition to our regular Sunday activities, there are many other ways to be involved in the life of Community Bible Church. These activities are designed to provide times of learning, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Special opportunities include, but are not limited to, the following activities.

Small Group Ministries

A variety of small group ministries are available throughout the year. The following groups are available on an ongoing basis, or are offered periodically. 

  • “Community Groups” – An important ministry of Community Bible Church is its “Community Group” Ministry. These small groups are composed of couples and single adults who meet weekly for times of sharing, fellowship, spiritual growth, and outreach.
  • Mid-Week Bible Studies – At various times mid-week Bible studies and prayer times are held. Topics, duration, and the location of the studies will vary.
  • Early Morning Men’s Group – This group meets on Wednesday mornings for a time of sharing, prayer, and Bible study.
  • Sermon Study Group – This group meets on Wednesday mornings at 7:30 a.m. for a time of prayer and discussion of the week’s upcoming sermon passage, as well as reflection on past sermons and how they are making an impact.
  • Friday Noon Men’s Bible Study and Fellowship – Bring your lunch and join this men’s group for fellowship and Bible study. All men are invited!

Retreats and Outreach Events

Family retreats, women’s retreats, and men’s retreats have been part of the church’s ministry. Also, other events such as women’s luncheons and special men’s events, serve as an outreach to others.

Mission-Related Events

Events relating to missionary outreach help keep missions a primary focus of Community Bible Church. Activities might include weekend mission conferences, short-term mission projects, and other mission-oriented events.

Summer Activities

About once a month during the summer, special Sunday afternoon or evening activities are planned. Picnics at parks or homes are a popular event. Recreational activities such as softball, volleyball, and swimming are often available.

Potluck Lunches

To provide an opportunity for people to enjoy fellowship and get to know one another better, potluck lunches are held periodically after the worship service on Sunday. These are held in the basement fellowship hall.

Fall Cookout and Hayride

Traditionally in the fall, an evening cookout and hayride have provided a time of fellowship.

Christmas Banquet

An adult Christmas banquet is generally held in December. It takes place either in a restaurant or in the basement fellowship hall of Community Bible Church.
